OutdoorTherapy

At some point in life, we all encounter challenges that affect our mental health

Whether you're facing anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, or simply seeking personal reflection, outdoor therapy blends physical activity, time in nature, and therapeutic support to help you find clarity, perspective, and your inner strength.

Spending time in nature boosts both mental and physical well-being, offering more than just a walk—it’s a chance to release endorphins and have meaningful conversations. If traditional or online counselling doesn’t feel right, outdoor therapy could be ideal.

“In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks”

- John Muir

Benefits of Outdoor Therapy

Build your resilience

Therapy in nature cultivates resilience as you adapt to changing terrain and weather, building grit, determination, and problem-solving skills for life.  Facing these natural challenges helps build the confidence to navigate obstacles both in therapy and beyond.

Boost physical activity

Regular physical activity, such as walking during counselling sessions, has numerous physical health benefits. It can improve cardiovascular health, boost energy levels, and contribute to better sleep patterns–all crucial for overall well-being.

A familiar experience

Instead of sitting across from each other in a traditional office setting, we walk side by side, exploring the world around us. This helps to create a more comfortable space to share thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

Flexible locations

Not being tied to a specific therapy room or location frees us to find a location that works for you and your transport options. Walks will be appropriate to current fitness and outdoor experience.

Next Steps...

  • Free Initial Conversation: To get started call, message, email me. Or book a discovery call direct. We’ll have a short ZOOM or telephone conversation at no cost to you. This allows us to get to know each other a little, and determine if outdoor therapy is the right approach for you.

  • Cost and Duration: Walking sessions last around an hour and cost £50 per session, payable in advance, online or in-person.

  • Booking Your First Walk: When we decide to embark on this journey together, I’ll schedule our first walk into my diary, and we’ll discuss practical details such as routes and parking.

  • Tailored Walks: Routes are appropriate to your fitness level, walking experience, and time constraints.

  • Location and Timing: I currently work within a 15 mile radius of Paisley. Walks can start on weekdays (Mon-Thu) anytime between 10:00 am and 4:30pm, depending on our schedules. Start point will depend on your transportation options and time constraints.

  • Be Prepared: I believe in embracing the elements, and we will walk in all but the worst weather conditions. Suitable outdoor footwear and clothing are essential for your comfort and safety during our sessions. Depending on your circumstances, you may wish to consult your GP       before undertaking any exercise.
